I have made my fifth cake so far and EVERY ONE has turned out perfect!
Since I am baking challenged, this Cake Pro is making me look pretty good!
I HIGHLY recommend this if baking is not your thing or if you can bake, but are too dang lazy to do it!

AN UPDATE!!!
My Gourmia Cake Maker Pro has bit the big one. Screen unresponsive and pretty much brain dead. I tearfully unplugged the GCM3150 and let it's soul ascend.
I contacted Gourmia about a replacement since it was out of warranty, even though by only eight days.
A gentleman by the name of David B. is taking care of this for me.
Gourmia and I have had our problems in the past, but this time they are coming through for me and I really appreciate it.
Perhaps I should be more caring and understanding about THEIR problems!
Because of their care and understanding of MY problem, they are now back in my list of preferred sellers.
Just sayin'.

works as advertised. if you use a boxed cake (15.5-16 oz), only use half of the mix. if you use the whole mix it will overflow and make a mess.

I would like to give this 5 stars, but the company made me give it 3.
The machine itself works great! I made a really nice cake. Unfortunately, the auto spatula, which is removable, went into the garbage disposal and I didn't know it. Well the garbage disposal mangled it in places. Now its unusable. When I called the company about getting a new one, I was informed that they don't have replacement parts for this machine. I ended up going to a welder to fix the original. Bad customer service!

Pic #2: I am comparing it to the Japanese Sponge Cake that I baked using the Conventional Oven :-)
Pic #3: I try their included recipe of the Victoria Sponge Cake + their built-in mixer & Settings and cake came out not fully done on top and was very heavy.
I gave up, log into Amazon & clicked to Return it but this morning I want to give it a last try and this time I use one of Youtube's Pound Cake recipe and I pre-mix the batter since the last time their built-in mixer didn't do a very good job.

This is a quality product. A Dutch oven converted to mix and bake cake. I used a Marzipan flavored cake mix. Didn't oil the pan, eggs, milk and butter were cold, and the cake came out fine. It's forgiving. It's a pity that you can't see the process. Me thinks a good companion for it is Dump Cake Recipe book.

Good Concept

So easy to bake a cake with this. Just add the ingredients, put the lid on the pan, pan in the device and press the button. Come back when unit beeps, take out pan and remove lid, let cool a few minutes, invert and cake should come out with a bit of a shake. Pan cleans up very easy. Done. I've just tried a few cake mixes (setting 1) and so far success. Cake is nicely baked with a decent texture. I set this up on my stove (glass top) and turn on the exhaust fan above and this keeps any heating in the kitchen to a minimum, no need to use the oven. One issue is the pause function doesn't work on my unit, although I can't really think why I'd need to use that function. There is only one pan to use, so the shape of the finished cake is pretty much a single shape. The unit is well built, and the pan is rather sturdy. I've baked enough cakes in the past to appreciate how simple this has made the process. Of the 13 settings 7 are pre-set with only the shade of cake (light, med, dark) that can vary. I'm not sure what happens during the 1hr 40min it takes to bake a cake, but it does work nicely. The Gourmia web site has the manual and recipes for download and further review.

The pause function does not work

I was really looking forward to using this cake maker, however, a couple of things that I don't like about it. The pause function does not work so you can't pause the baking to test if the cake is done. You have to stop the baking cycle altogether & so if the cake needs more baking time you have to start it from the beginning of the mode. In order to ensure you don't over bake the cake you have to keep track of what remains of the baking time by using a separate timer. The other thing I don't like about it is the handle on the pan. It does not fold flat against the pan rim but sits almost an inch above the rim & this makes it very awkward when you are trying to flip the cake out of the pan. I am returning it.
