1. OSTBA 7.5’’ Stainless Steel Electric Meat Slicer – Best Overall Choice #1

View on Amazon

The OSBA 7.5” Stainless Steel Electric Meat Slicer earns high marks for its budget-friendly price tag, slicing power, and easy-cleanup design.

This meat slicer is powered by a 200-watt motor and includes a 7.5” stainless steel serrated blade. OSTBA offers removable blade options, too.

This unit has enough kick to cut frozen meat, but it also provides precision cuts when working with delicate food items like cheese and vegetables.

This meat slicer is also quick and easy to clean, especially since it’s made from nearly top-to-bottom stainless steel.

The blade guard prevents debris buildup on the cutting surface. This, along with the meat slicer blade, slide-rod extension, and food pusher are all removable for easy cleanup.

The OSBA is also safety-equipped. To operate the blade, you need to press the safety lock and power button simultaneously. I like that this meat slicer sits on non-slip suction feet, which keeps this 8.64-pound unit safely in place.

If you like high-quality stainless steel construction, easy cleanup, ample cutting power, and a low price tag, check out the OSBA 7.5” Stainless Steel Electric Meat Slicer.

2. KWS MS-10NT Premium Commercial Electric Meat Slicer – Best Overall Choice #2

View on Amazon

The KWS MS-10NT Premium Commercial Electric Meat Slicer is a mid-priced unit that earns points for its durable construction, large blade, self-sharpening features, and ample slicing power.

This KWS electric meat slicer is powered by a 320-watt motor and comes with a 10” Teflon-coated stainless steel blade. The Teflon blade cuts with precision and is also sturdier and more rust-resistant than carbon steel blades.

While this premium electric meat slicer excels at slicing meat, it also performs well when cutting vegetables, cheeses, and fruits. The smooth blade makes paper-thin cuts, but it can be adjusted to cut .4” slices.

Extras include built-in, dual whetstone sharpeners, which keep a razor-sharp edge on the serrated blade. I also like the waterproof on-off switch, skidproof feet, and the large food slicer carriage.

The carriage holds food up to 7” long X 7.5” wide X 5.5” tall. That’s a lot of space to work.

While this meat slicer is not made from stainless steel, it is manufactured from aluminum alloy, a comparable material that is tough and corrosion-resistant.

If you’re looking for a high-powered premium electric meat slicer with an affordable price tag and a built-in system that sharpens blades for you, check out the KWS MS-10NT Premium Commercial Electric Meat Slicer.

3. Chef’s Choice 609 Premium Electric Food Slicer

View on Amazon

The Chef’s Choice 609 Premium Electric Food Slicer is one of the most affordable meat slicers on the market. So while you don’t get solid stainless steel construction or locomotive power, you do get a solid little machine that’s ideal for small-scale production.

This Chef’s Choice unit has a 7” stainless steel blade that cuts from deli-thin to 3.4” slices. It’ll handle fruits, cheeses, and meats with ease,  but it doesn’t quite have the power to manage frozen meat.

The shell is made from plastic, but all of the structural components are made of cast aluminum and stainless steel. That’s to be expected from a meat slicer in this price bracket – and I don’t see that as a deal-breaker.

I do like how easily this unit cleans up. The serrated blade, food pusher, and thickness control plate are all removable and dishwasher safe.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly electric meat slicer for small-scale production, the Chef’s Choice 609 Premium Electric Food Slicer is up for the task.

4. Zica 10″ Chrome-Plated Electric Slicer

View on Amazon

The Zica 10” Chrome-Plated Electric Slicer is a reasonably-priced electric meat slicer with ample power and solid construction.

This meat slicer comes with a 10” chrome-plated carbon steel blade that’s powered by a 150-watt motor. This is a commercial meat slicer, so it’s able to make wide 7” slices. It also adjusts to make paper-thin slices or thicker cuts, up to .47”.

One of the shining features of this meat slicing machine is the built-in whetstone, which sharpens the blade as you use it. So you rarely have to sharpen or swap out blades.

I also like that this meat slicer is made from aluminum and carbon steel. Both materials are sleek, sturdy, and corrosion-resistant. Plus, they wipe down easily and maintain a nice shine.

With 150 watts of power, you’ll have no trouble cutting frozen meat. But this electric food slicer also handles delicate meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits with ease.

If you’re looking for a consumer-friendly unit that sharpens itself and has enough power for commercial use, check out the Zica 10” Chrome-Plated Electric Slicer.

5. OSTBA 7.5″ Deli Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly electric meat slicer for home use, the OSTBA 7.5” Deli Meat Slicer is definitely one of my favorite meat slicer models.

The OSTBA has many virtues and few limitations, which surprised me – especially at this price point.

To start, this electric meat slicing machine comes with a 150-watt motor. That’s enough power to glide through cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and, with a little muscle, even frozen meat.

The 7.5” inch stainless steel blade makes smooth, swift cuts. And I like that I can adjust my cuts from 0-14 mm thicknesses.

This unit stands out from many of the other budget-friendly units for its power and sturdy anodized aluminum construction. There’s very little plastic here, which is surprising for a unit this cost-efficient.

Cleanup, too, is surprisingly quick. This electric food slicer has a bar that opens up, giving you quick access to the serrated blade.

The tray table does not screw in, so that, too, disassembles quickly. I cleaned the entire unit in under 15 minutes – and with little effort. Not bad at all.

With its sturdy aluminum construction and ample power, the OSTBA 7.5” Deli Meat Slicer is, hands-down, one of the best budget-friendly meat slicers on the market.

6. BESWOOD 10″ Premium Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

The BESWOOD 10” Premium Meat Slicer is another fantastic meat slicer. While it’s not a Hobart, it can keep pace with one. Plus, it costs a fraction of the price.

This meat slicer comes with a roaring 240-watt motor and a 10” chromium-plated carbon steel blade. There’s a lot of power behind that blade, so you’ll have no trouble cutting meat, fruits, vegetables, and even frozen raw meat.

At 33 pounds, this isn’t especially light. But I see that as a virtue. Unlike most meat slicers, the BESWOOD sits firmly in place while I work. Part of that is weight, part of it is thanks to the high-grip suction feet.

This design allows me to work quickly and safely. I’m able to concentrate on making smooth cuts without repositioning the meat slicer.

I also like that the body is made from sturdy aluminum and carbon steel. Both are durable materials that resist corrosion and polish up nicely.

This meat slicer takes around 20 minutes to do a thorough cleanup, which isn’t bad. And you can clean most sections without disassembling them.

If you’re looking for commercial quality, but don’t want to pay commercial prices, the BESWOOD 10” Premium Meat Slicer is the right meat slicer for you.

7. Weston 9-Inch Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

The Weston 9-Inch Meat Slicer is another budget-friendly automatic meat slicer. This one stands out for its powerful motor, sturdy construction, and one-year warranty.

Unlike other budget-friendly meat slicers, this one is housed in aluminum. One downside is that the primary gear is made of plastic. So while this unit excels at slicing fresh meat, vegetables, and cheeses, I don’t recommend using it to cut frozen meat.

I also have to dock a couple of points because this food slicer takes a little effort to clean. The blade and food tray comes apart quickly, but you’ll have to clean the rest with the other parts in place.

That said, I was surprised by how quiet the 150-watt motor is on this meat slicer, even when handling semi-frozen cut meat. Another virtue is the 9” stainless steel blade, which allows you to make swift cuts from deli-thin to over ½” thick.

At only 10” X 17” X 12” and only 12.47 pounds, this compact meat slicer also stows away nicely, making it ideal if you have limited counter or cabinet space.

If you’re looking for a cheap meat slicer for light home use, the Weston 9-Inch Meat Slicer is a decent meat slicer for any job.

8. Super Deal Commercial Semi-Auto Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

As the name suggests, the Super Deal Commercial Semi-Auto Meat Slicer is a great deal. And that’s not just because it comes with an affordable price tag.

This semi-automatic meat slicer comes with a hefty 240-watt motor and a 10”, high-quality stainless steel blade. With a ¼ horsepower engine behind you, you’ll have no trouble cutting raw meat, vegetables, and fruits.

I also like that I have 15 thickness options to choose from – and I can make those adjustments simply by turning a dial. This semi-automatic slicer makes swift, paper-thin slices or cuts up to ⅔”.

This semi-automatic meat slicer earns extra points for its sturdy stainless steel construction. There’s very little plastic to be found here. I also like the built-in sharpener and the large 8” X 7” meat tray.

If you’re looking for a food slicer with ample power, sturdy construction, and an affordable price tag, check out the Super Deal Commercial Semi-Auto Meat Slicer.

9. F2C Professional Stainless Steel Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

The F2C Professional Stainless Steel Meat Slicer is another fantastic semi-automatic food cutter.

This meat slicing machine comes with a 240-watt motor and a 10” stainless steel blade. This unit has enough cutting power for commercial applications, but at only 21” X 16” X 16” and only 35 pounds, it is also a popular choice for home chefs.

I like that this unit comes with a built-in thickness knob, which gives you 13 options. Adjust from paper-thin meat slices up to .5” thick cuts.

The commercial food tray is also a nice touch. The tray is lined with a series of steel nails. These grab the meat and keep it from sliding while you work. I also like that I have plenty of room to work because the tray is 8” X 7”.

This meat slicer is a manageable 35 pounds, but I actually like that it’s heavier than most meat slicers. Because of the weight (and the suction feed), this unit stays in place as you work. That increases safety and efficiency.

If you like commercial meat slicers but don’t want to pay professional meat slicers prices, check out the  F2C Professional Stainless Steel Meat Slicer.

10. Chef’s Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer

View on Amazon

The Chef’s Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer is another nice entry-level deli slicer.

This unit has a high-torque motor and a 7” removable blade, which provides plenty of power and cutting surface area for nearly any home kitchen task.

I like the precision-thickness dial, which allows you to adjust to make one-inch thick or thin slices. The body and major structural components are all made of cast aluminum and stainless steel.

One downside is that some of the inner gears are made from plastic. That’s not surprising, especially at this price point. Though it is a limitation, I don’t see it as a deal-breaker.

This meat slicer performs well for light home use. It’s a capable slicer that’s perfect for slicing cheese, vegetables, and most meat. Just don’t expect it to perform like the best commercial meat slicer.

Extras include a 7” tilted food carriage, an easy-to-clean design, and a safety lock that secures everything is in place when not in use.

If you’re looking for an excellent entry-level slicer that can handle most home kitchen applications, check out the Chef’s Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer.

Why buy a meat slicer?

While you’ll find a meat slicer behind nearly every deli counter in the world, these handy devices are starting to pop up in home kitchens. Meat cutters save you money, allow you to make uniform cuts, and prepare cheese, vegetables, fruit dishes, and meat quickly – without extra additives.

Quickly Prepare Fruits and Vegetables

It’s a common misconception that meat slicers are only used to cut meat. On the contrary, meat slicers serve a variety of purposes. A decent food slicer can be used to prepare all sorts of vegetables and fruits.

I’ve used a food slicer to make wafer thin potato slices and slice up cabbage for coleslaws. I’ve even used them to prepare fruit cocktails or fruits for pie fillings.

Enjoy Perfectly Sliced Bread

There’s nothing like the taste and aroma of fresh, homemade bread. The challenge is cutting it into uniform slices. A serrated knife will do, but when you slice by hand, the thickness of the pieces varies from one cut to the next. But not when you use a meat slicer.

A food slicer sweeps through thick pieces of bread like butter, giving you even slices that you can actually build a sandwich on!

Eat Healthier

A food slicer also ensures that you eat healthier. Most pre-packaged cold cuts and lunch meats are loaded with sodium nitrates, additives, and other preservatives most of us can’t pronounce. But there is another way!

You can pick up a chub of your favorite meat at most deli counters. And if you have the right model, you can use a meat slicer to make cold cuts at home – without additives and wasteful packaging.

Save Money

Electric meat slicers also have a serious cost-saving advantage too. Think about it this way: At the average deli, you’ll spend between $7 and $9 on a pound of sliced meat. The prepackaged sliced meat is a little cheaper: between $5 and $7 per pound; it’s also loaded with preservatives.

However, if you have a decent model at home, you can purchase a fresh slab of meat for as little as $2 per pound and as much as $5 per pound. That’s a significant cost difference.

Plus, when you use automatic meat slicers, you choose how thick or thin your cuts will be.

What features to look for in a meat slicer

There are several features to consider when shopping for the best meat slicer. The most essential being motor and blade size, weight, construction material, and the additional features below.

Motor

Wattage is one of the most important features to consider when looking for a home meat slicer. Smaller, budget-friendly meat slicers typically come with a 150-watt motor. That’s sufficient for cutting cheese, bread, cold cuts, and vegetables.

However, you may need more horsepower to slice meat that is semi-frozen or thick. If your budget allows, I suggest purchasing a unit with at least a 240-watt power rating.

One good option is the BESWOOD 10” Premium Meat Slicer. This is a great mid-priced meat slicer with a 10” chromium-plated carbon steel blade. This unit has a lot of power and can manage just about anything you throw at it.

Cutting blade size

When it comes to the blade, size does matter. Blades typically start at 7”. The average commercial model comes with a 14” blade. Before you purchase, consider your usual cooking regimen. The larger the food item, the larger your blade needs to be.

That said, most will find a 7” to 10” blade sufficient for home use.

Weight

Weight is another important factor to consider – and when it comes to meat slicers, lighter is not necessarily better. While meat cutters do most of the heavy lifting for you, there are times when you’ll have to use a little muscle, especially when you slice meat that is thick or semi-frozen.

In those situations, the weight of the model actually works on your behalf. A heavier meat slicer is less likely to move around the counter while you work.

With that said, if you are using a meat slicer primarily to cut thin slices of meat or prepare vegetables and fruits, you’ll do just fine with a lightweight model.

Meat tray size

The size of the meat tray is also important. A meat slicer with a large tray allows you to cut quickly without stopping to empty the tray. If you’re doing a lot of high-volume slicing, a unit with a small prep tray may be cumbersome and time-consuming.

Types and Ease of Use

There are three types of meat slicers on the market (automatic, semi-automatic, and manual meat slicers).

Automatic meat slicers are the easiest to use. All you have to do is turn on the machine, place the meat in the tray and let the machine do the work for you. These meat slicers are typically found in commercial kitchens.

Semi-automatic meat slicers are efficient, require less muscle, and are best for home use. A semi-automatic meat slicer comes with a carriage designed to rebound back when you push it. This allows you to make swift, even cuts without much effort.

Manual meat slicers look and function a lot like paper cutters. They come with a sturdy base and a long knife affixed to the base at the tip. Every cut is made by hand, without electricity. A manual meat slicer is cheaper but much more labor-intensive.

What is the best meat slicer for you?

So what is the best meat slicer on the market? That ultimately depends on your budget, preferences, and needs. However, if I had to choose one, it’d be the OSBA 7.5” Stainless Steel Electric Meat Slicer.

This unit comes with a 200-watt motor and a 7.5” stainless steel serrated edge blade. That gives you enough horsepower and blade width to slice meats and prepare other delicate food items like cheese and vegetables.

Since this unit is made from nearly top-to-bottom stainless steel, it’s also durable and easy to clean – especially since many parts disassemble.

I also like that this meat slicer has built-in safety features and can only be used when you press the safety lock and power button simultaneously.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly price tag, ample slicing power, and easy-cleanup design, check out the OSBA 7.5” Stainless Steel Electric Meat Slicer.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the best meat slicers available. Happy slicing!
