Film grinder

The GFA Series film grinder has been designed for low-rate film grinding applications. The GFA uses a 5-hp grinding motor and has a maximum throughput of approximately 60 lb/hr pending testing of processor?s materials. There are two different versions of the GFA Series grinder. The first is designed to handle edge and/or bleed trims only. This design uses a 5-hp fluff conveying fan for both inducing the trims into the grinder cutting chamber and for blowing the ground fluff out of the grinder. There is no need for a separate trim removal inducer or air eliminator. The second version is for handling both trims and off-spec roll scrap. This design does require a separate inducer, air eliminator, and roll feeder and uses a 2-hp fluff conveying fan to blow the ground scrap. Both versions are designed with a single bed knife and two rotating knives. The standard knives are carbide coated to provide long life. The GFA Series is part of the company?s automatic scrap recycling system for inline recycling of production film scrap. Larger grinders, ranging from 20 to 100 hp, handle most film-scrap applications.
