Phased Array Flaw Detectors

Fine Testing  provides Olympus' phased array detectors which produce precise and explicit cross-sectional pictures of internal structures at fast inspection speeds. Phased array technology uses various ultrasonic elements along with time delays to create beams that can be focused electronically for fast and multiple angle inspections. Phased array technology is highly accurate and reliable when it comes to non-destructive testing.

OmniScan SX:

The OmniScan SX from Olympus is a flaw detector that shares its roots with OminScan and has evolved with over 20 years of experience in phased array technology. In order to improve effectiveness, OmniScan SX offers a new streamlined software interface displayed on an 8.4in (21.3cm) touch screen. OmniScan SX is a user friendly and cost-effective system which is highly suitable for less demanding applications.

OmniScan SX comes in two models: the SX PA and SX UT. The SX PA is a 16:64PR phased array unit whereas SX UT is equipped with a conventional UT channel for pulse-echo, pitch-catch or TOFD (Time-of-Flight Diffraction) inspection. OmniScan SX has a clear edge when it comes to portability and ease of use. In comparison to OmniScan MX2, it is 33% lighter and 50% smaller, offering an unprecedented level of portability.

OmniScan MX:

The leader in modular NDT test platforms for more than ten years, OmniScan MX has been the most successful portable and modular phased array and eddy current array test instrument produced by Olympus. The OmniScan MX offers a high acquisition rate and unique software features to perform manual and automated inspections efficiently. With thousands of units in use throughout the world, it is one of the most popular equipment across several industries in non-destructive testing. 

OmniScan MX is designed keeping the harshest field conditions in mind. A solid polycarbonate  based casing and rubber bumpers make it a rugged instrument, capable of withstanding drops and shocks. Its compact size and light weight enable it to be carried easily and handled anywhere. It runs for 6 hours with its two Li-ion batteries.

FOCUS PX

This equipment from Olympus provides advanced phased array integration solutions that meet the requirements of the most demanding inspections. The solution includes the FOCUS PX which is a powerful and scalable acquisition unit, the Focus PC which is a powerful data acquisition and analysis software program, and two software development kits (SDK) known as FocusControl and Focus Data. It is capable of customising the software interface based on the required application and controlling the Focus PC to become a fully automated inspection solution.

Built with the latest technology from Olympus, FOCUS PX provides an excellent phased array signal quality which results in optimum signal-to-noise ratio. It is optimised to reduce programming time significantly, resulting in minimised cycle time and better operator experience. FOCUS PX is designed for harsh production environments, making it a rugged unit.
